Shopify Price Tracker ("the Service") consists of a Chrome extension, a web dashboard, and a backend API. This page explains what data the Service collects and how it's used.
What we collect
- Account data: the email address and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) you provide when signing up.
- Tracked product data:when you click "Track this product" in the extension, we send the current page's URL and, optionally, a product name you enter to our backend. The extension does not transmit anything automatically or in the background — only when you take that explicit action.
- Price/stock history: our backend periodically fetches publicly available price and stock-availability data directly from the Shopify stores you choose to track, and stores that history so you can view trends on the dashboard.
- API key:a per-account key used to authenticate the extension to our backend, stored locally in your browser's extension storage.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
- We don't track or transmit your general browsing activity — the extension's content script only reads the current page to prefill a product-name field locally, and nothing is sent unless you click "Track this product."
Third parties
Billing is processed by Paddle.com, which acts as merchant of record for paid subscriptions and handles payment details directly — we never see or store your card information.
Your data
You can remove a tracked product (and its history) at any time from the dashboard. To delete your account entirely or ask questions about this policy, contact podluy23@gmail.com.
